Nationals Div 1 & Div 2
The major event of the year on the Intervarsity calendar is the Nationals Div 1 & Div 2. With 43 member Universities across Australia bringing together over 7,500 students for an epic week of representative sport right here in Canberra. Universities will battle it out to be crowned the national champions in one of 32 different sports. Competitions are open to Men's, Women's and Mixed categories. Find out more here.

Nationals Snow
Nationals Snow is one of the peak Snowsports events in the country. Students can compete for their University in both Alpine and Freestyle Skiing, Snowboarding and Cross Country. The 2024 event will be held at one of Australia's best alpine destinations, Mt Buller.

Indigenous Nationals
The 28th edition of the Indigenous Nationals will be held in Wollongong at the University of Wollongong, and acknowledge the Dharawal people, the traditional owners of the land in which the event will take place. The week long event celebrates the rich sporting culture of Indigenous Australia, as well as acknowledging the heritage and history of the participating student-athletes. Indigenous Nationals is open to both students and staff that meet the eligibility criteria. The team will compete in all four sports: Basketball. Netball, Touch Football and Volleyball.

Regional Intervarsity

A new tournament for 2024, Regional Intervarsity will bring together ACT and NSW universities to compete in AFL, Baseball, Dodgeball, Handball, Lacrosse, Lawn Bowls Oztag, Pickleball, Roundnet, Rugby 7s, Rugby League 9s, Softball, Squash, Tenpin Bowling and Ultimate Disc. Nationals Standalone Events
Sports not contested at the Nationals Div 1 & Div 2 are held as standalone championships throughout the year and are often part of partner events with National Sporting Organisations, commercial events, or hosted by member Universities. The standalone events are reviewed yearly. For 2024 the Nationals Championships will include: 3x3 Basketball, Athletics, Distance Running, Swimming, Surfing, T20 Cricket and Triathlon.
