Riley Hawke - AGM Candidate

Statement:

To all members of the ANU Sport and Recreation Association

My name is Riley and I am a 5th year student studying a Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Political Science. I have loved being a member of the ANU Sport community since commencing at university. The last two years on the board have taught me so much, particularly it has highlighted the diversity and richness of our community. I would be honoured to continue contributing on the board for another term. As Vice President I’ve taken the opportunity to have significant input into the strategic direction and operations of the association. I believe it is important to have a strong student voice on the board to help guide the future of ANU Sport, as it considers the needs of current students.

In my time at ANU I have been involved with a wide variety of programs run and supported by ANU Sport. In 2022 and 2023 I was the President of the Interhall Sports Organisation (ISO) which ran social sport for our residential students across 13 sports. In November of 2023, working closely with the administration team from ANU Sport I oversaw the integration of ISO into a program run by ANU Sport. Last year I had the privilege of attending UniSport Nationals as a university team manager supporting our students as they competed against other universities. I firmly believe the association is heading in a fantastic direction and want to help contribute to that as much as possible.
