With over 10 different sports on offer, there is something for everyone.
Each year, ANU Sport in consultation with the Sport Representatives decide on the various sports which will be played as a part of the ANU Interhall Sport competition. Including but not limited to soccer, badminton, and AFL 9's there is something for everyone.
Semester 1, 2024
Term 1: Road Relay, Tennis, Touch Football, Ultimate Disc.
Term 2: AFL 9's, Basketball, Badminton.
Semester 2, 2024
Term 3: Netball, Soccer, Table Tennis.
Term 4: Dodgeball, Inward Bound*, Lawn Bowls, Volleyball.
*Inward Bound is not facilitated by ANU Sport.
AFL is a contact sport that consists of 2 teams of 18 players. The aim is to kick the ball into the goals to score as many points for your team as possible. The team with the most points wins!
AFL 9s is the AFL’s social version of the game. It’s a fast, free-flowing game that involves 9 players on each team playing on a smaller field.
Badminton is an easy and fun racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net.
Basketball is a team sport played on a rectangular court where two opposing teams made up of five players attempt to score by throwing a ball into the opponent's hoop and net, otherwise known as a basket.

Dodgeball is an easy to learn team game. The goal of dodgeball is to eliminate the other team by hitting them with balls.

Inward Bound is a unique adventure footrace, challenging the physical and emotional endurance of participants. Inward Bound is NOT facilitated by ANU Sport.
The most social sport on offer. Lawn Bowls is the game that takes a second to learn, but a lifetime to master. A precision sport in which the aim is to roll bowls closest to a smaller white ball (aka the ‘jack’ or ‘kitty’).
Netball is a ball sport played by two teams of seven players. Games are played on a rectangular court with raised goal rings at each end.
Road Relay consists of team from each residence made of four men* and four women* running the 1.5km course or the 3km course tag-team style.

Soccer consists of two teams of 11 players, using any part of their bodies except their hands and arms, try to maneuver the ball into the opposing team’s goal.
Table tennis is a game played on a table, utilising rackets and a small lightweight ball. The objective of the game is to land the ball on the opponent’s side without them being able to return it.
Tennis is played with rackets and a ball by two players or pairs of players on a rectangular court divided by a low net.
Touch Football is an exciting and energetic non-contact variant of Rugby played by teams of six players that promotes the fundamental skills of running, passing, catching, and evasion.
Ultimate is an inclusive, non-contact self-refereed team sport played with a flying disc a.k.a frisbee.
Volleyball is a game where two teams use their hands to hit a ball backwards and forwards over a high net without allowing the ball to touch the ground.
