Keeping you safe while we gradually reopen ANU Sport in October!

 

In accordance with the ACT Government's Covid-19 pathway forward, ANU Sport will reopen in several stages to ensure a safe, secure and healthy experience for all members and their guests.

From Friday October 15, some Outside Sports areas/venues will reopen under Covid-19 density restrictions. From 29 October, any remaining outdoor areas/venues will reopen. For reopening plan and facilities bookings, please consult the 'Outdoor Sports' and 'Clubs & Programs' portals 'below.'

From Friday October 29, Indoor Sports areas will reopen and be available for hire. For more information on facilities bookings and health protocol infos, please consult the 'Indoor Sports' section.

From Friday October 29Gym and Group Fitness access will also be restored to members. Please visit the corresponding portals 'below' to find out essential infos related to membership reactivation and access requirements. .

+++COVID-19 REOPENING KEY DIRECTIVES ACROSS ALL AREAS OF ANU SPORT+++

 

1. FOLLOW THE RULES: We follow and implement strict ACT Government Covid-19 reopening protocols and ask that you make yourself aware of these protocols before returning to ANU Sport-related activities and venues. (ACT Health links 'below')

2. GET TESTED: Please do not attend any of our our venues if you are feeling unwell as our communities health and safety is the highest priority for us. Get tested for Covid-19, even if you have minor symptoms!

3. CLEAN AGAINST COVID: During the reopening phase, we will provide adequate cleaning facilities during your visit to ANU Sport. Please use a towel and follow mask mandates, where they apply at our venues. Please continue to practice good hygiene - wash or sanitize hands whenever possible during your time at ANU Sport.

4. KEEP YOUR DISTANCE: Please stick to the ACT Health-mandated 'density' limits for indoor and outdoor activities. Further detailed information on density limits for specific ANU Sport activities will be provided before main reopening on 29 October and is also available in the ACT Health Pathway out of Lockdown link 'below.'

5. CHECK-IN: Help keep our venues compliant! Please continue to use the ACT Health Covid-19 QR-code check-in for all ANU Sport activities.

Gym

Group Fitness

 

Current restrictions:

Clubs & Programs

 

Current restrictions:
•    Tennis Club members may hire the tennis courts for social tennis and / or 1:2 coaching can return. 
•    Boat Club and Sailing Club members are permitted to access their personal boats for use. Opening of the Boat Shed and Sailing Shed must be approved by ANU Sport. 
•    Access to Club storage / facilities on campus outside of Building 19 may be permitted to members with approval from ANU Sport and must align with current ACT COVID restrictions.
•    Any other Club related activities must be in accordance with the ACT Government Restrictions. If Clubs members wish to meet in an informal capacity under the existing restrictions you are permitted to, however this is not considered a sanctioned Club activity.


From 15 October:
•    All Affiliated Clubs may resume outdoor training and activities under ACT COVID restrictions – maximum 25 people OR 1 per 4 sqm whichever is less.
•    Clubs are advised to complete a return to play COVID-Safe plan prior to recommencing activities. 

From 29 October:
•    Further easing of restrictions – additional information to be provided.

Indoor Sports

 

Current restrictions:
•    Closed – not available for hire

From 15 October:
•    Closed – not available for hire

From 29 October: 
•    Open with restrictions – future information to be provided

Outdoor Sports 

 

Current restrictions: 
•    All ANU Campus Ovals are closed.
•    ANU Tennis Courts are available for hire by Tennis Club members ONLY; 1:2 contactless coaching can occur.
•    Opening of the Boat Shed and Sailing Shed must be approved by ANU Sport.
•    Access to Club storage / facilities on campus outside of Building 19 may be permitted to members with approval from ANU Sport and must align with current ACT COVID restrictions.


From 15 October:
•    All ANU campus Ovals are open and available for bookings for sports training or recreational activities.
•    Tennis Courts open for hire under ACT COVID restrictions.
•    Boat Shed and Sailing Shed operations can return under ACT COVID restrictions. 
•    Access to Club storage / facilities on campus outside of Building 19 may be permitted to members following current ACT COVID restrictions.
