We're celebrating global health, harmony and peace

On Monday, 21 June 2021, the world will celebrate the seventh International Day of Yoga. Yoga, an ancient Indian tradition, has become a world-wide phenomenon.

The initiative to celebrate the International Day of Yoga was proposed by India in 2014 and led to a United Nations resolution and World Health Organisation endorsement to symbolise global health, harmony and peace.

We're kicking off the event with a talk from ANU (CAP) academic Dr Shameem Black, who has devoted time to studying the impact of yoga and mindfulness as a cultural practice.

Next, we'll move into a FREE yoga class run by instructor Ela Majocha.

The day of wellbeing can be topped off with a visit to the Co-op for lunch! Our friends at the Canberra Food Co-op are offering a $7 lunch offer for those attending our event.
