Love playing sport? Want to challenge yourself against other Universities around Australia, and make new friends while doing it?

UniSport Australia provides you with that opportunity in the form of the UniSport Nationals. The Nationals are conducted across three major events as well as a number of standalone events across the year, and are designed to give student-athletes the chance to compete for their University in a fun and competitive environment. Nationals Div 1 & Div 2: 25 September - 1 October 2021 (cancelled for 2021)

The major event of the year on the Intervarsity calendar is the Nationals Div 1 & Div 2. With 43 member Universities across Australia bringing together over 7,500 students for an epic week of representative sport at the Gold Coast. Universities will battle it out to be crowned the national champions in one of 31 different sports. Competitions are open to Men's, Women's and Mixed categories.

Nationals Snow: 29 August - 2 September 2021 (cancelled for 2021)

Nationals Snow is one of the peak Snowsports events in the country. Students can compete for their University in both Alpine and Freestyle Skiing, Snowboarding and Cross Country. The 2021 event will be held at Australia's premier alpine destination in Thredbo. 2018 saw the ANU team crowned Sprit of the Mountain for the best sportsmanship in the Nationals Snow competition.

Indigenous Nationals: 20 - 24 June 2021

The Indigenous Nationals will be celebrating it's 25th anniversary in 2021 and heading back to where it all began at the then Wollotuka School for Aboriginal Studies, the University of Newcastle. The week long event celebrates the rich sporting culture of Indigenous Australia, as well as acknowledging the heritage and history of the participating student-athletes. Indigenous Nationals is open to both students and staff that meet the eligibility criteria. The team will compete in all four sports: Basketball. Netball, Touch Football and Volleyball.

Nationals Standalone Events: April - August 2021

Sports not contested at the Nationals Div 1 & Div 2 are held as standalone championships throughout the year and are often part of partner events with National Sporting Organisations, commercial events, or hosted by member Universities. The standalone events are reviewed yearly. For 2021 the Nationals will include: 3x3 Basketball, Athletics, Cross Country, Distance Running, League of Legends, Surfing, Swimming, T20 Cricket and Triathlon.

How to get involved for athletes, managers and coaches?

ANU Sport works in collaboration with the ANU Sport clubs to enter teams and individual athletes into the various events. Reach out to the sporting club representing the sport you would like to participate in, or fill in the forms below and we will get in contact with you!
