ANU Sport delivers tailored programs to groups around the university and Canberra more broadly. These programs can include classes such as yoga, meditation or boot-camp and can be adapted to suit your needs.
In 2019, ANU Sport delivered several programs across the ANU campus. These programs were hosted by Toad Hall, Ursula Hall, St John XXIII College, UniLodge, Wright Hall, Burton & Garran Hall, Burgmann College, CECS, the Crawford School of Public Policy and CBE. We also partnered with several others and held the classes in our facilities. Contact Selma [dot] richteranu-sport [dot] com [dot] au for more information on how to bring ANU Sport to you!
Earlier this year, ANU Sport delivered a BodyBalance class for the ANU Solar Thermal Group for staff and students to conclude their off-campus Group Seminar/meeting. The class was run by our BodyBalance instructor, Mags, who is also the EA to the Director Professor Ian Petersen at the Research School of Electrical, Energy and Materials Engineering and a member of the ANU Solar Thermal Group.
Everyone really enjoyed the class, especially watching the sunset across the hills below Mt Stromlo!
ANU Sport also delivered monthly staff meditation sessions for the ANU College of Business and Economics in 2019. Dr Cameron Gordon, a researcher within the School of Economics, said that the meditation sessions were 'very peaceful and calming,' and help him to 'stop and relax - very peaceful and worthwhile.'

In 2018, ANU Sport delivered 2 yoga sessions per week for John Curtin School of Medical Research staff and students. The aim was to provide JCSMR staff and students with a moment to step away from their work and invest in a mental and physical recharge. We caught up with Jackie Stenhouse (JCSMR – Snr. Administration Officer) for her thoughts on JCSMR's Get Active yoga sessions.
'I was thrilled to hear that lunchtime Yoga was coming to our doorstep at The John Curtin School of Medical Research - JCSMR!'
'I spend a lot of time working and not enough to take time out and move. Having done two [Get Active yoga] sessions now, it’s something I believe to be really beneficial for students and staff to participate in. I return to my afternoon schedule energised… and I’m just more effective!'
