Jacqui was elected to the Board as an ANU student in April 2016 and has been the Vice-President since September 2016, thoroughly enjoying sitting on the Board and advocating for ANU Sport to University management. She was a resident of Burgmann College, graduated from ANU with a Bachelor of Asia-Pacific Studies (Chinese Studies) and a Bachelor of Laws (Hons I) and is now a solicitor at King & Wood Mallesons, contributing her legal skills while on the Board, such as redrafting and passing our current constitution.
Jacqui has been an active member of ANU Sport since 2008, participating as a member of the Hockey Club, Boat Club, and gym; coaching teams and competing in the Interhall Sports Competition; and representing ANU at the Eastern University Games and five Australian University Championships. She also captained the Boat Club for two years. Jacqui was honoured to receive a Half Blue for Dragon Boating, and Half and Full Blues for Rowing, for her sporting achievements and enhancing the reputation of university sport.
Separately, Jacqui is a qualified personal trainer and has represented Australia in three international dragon boating championships, as well as acting on the Board of Rowing ACT for over 3 years. From her involvement as an athlete, coach and sports administrator, Jacqui has learnt about different aspects of sporting activities and developed important teamwork, time-management, and communication skills. Sport is a fundamental part of her life! She has a solid understanding of how ANU Sport functions and is passionate about supporting its continuing role at ANU and in the Canberra community.
