Michael Blacksell

NOMINEE STATEMENT

I am interested in representing the students, staff and clubs of ANU. I have been an affiliated club member for over 30 years being a member of both the Boat Club and ANUFC. I have been a staff member of ANU for over 30 years and in this role I have supported both undergraduate and post graduate students and staff of ANU. I have served on the committee of both the Boat Club and ANUFC and I believe this puts me in a strong position to fairly and equitable represent students, staff and club members of ANU.

INVOLVEMENT IN ANU SPORT OR BROADER SPORT SECTOR

As part of my duties whilst on the committee of ANUFC I was the liaison with ANU Sport allowing a development of relationships with ANU Sport employees and a closer insight into the procedures of ANU Sport.

PROFESSIONAL / LEADERSHIP SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

As currently an ANU manager of over 10 people I have developed leadership, supervision and management skills whilst also requiring to fulfil project management, HR, WHS and financial duties. As a qualified electronics engineer I use skills to program IT systems to create efficient tools for management purposes. I have represented ANUFC as a committee member for 4 years where I took the role of ANU Sport Liaison.
