NOMINEE STATEMENT

As an ANU alumni and member of ANU Football Club over 25 years, I've seen a of lot change at ANU, ANU Sport and the ANU sporting club community. I'm keen to contribute to how ANU Sport can best serve it's community, especially assisting in bridging the gap between ANU Sport and the Clubs. I'm also passionate about the development opportunities provided to students in being involved with running clubs and organisations like ANU Sport, and keen to see those remain moving forward.

INVOLVEMENT IN ANU SPORT OR BROADER SPORT SECTOR

I've been a member of the ANU Football Club for over 25 years, and have had several stints over the years as a coach and on it's committee serving in a number of roles. Currently serving as Treasurer and Public Officer, working on creating a sustainable administrative framework to better meet the challenges of large club run by volunteers in an environment of ever increasing governance requirements.

PROFESSIONAL / LEADERSHIP SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

In my day job, I am CEO of a Canberra based software company, so I have plenty of experience and insight into IT and would love to contribute to helping ANU Sport continue to modernise. But I also have plenty of experience dealing with all the things that go into running an organisation like ANU Sport, from finance to HR, but especially in dealing with multiple stakeholders with varying interests, and finding the best outcomes to benefit all.

I've been a student at ANU, an alumni working as a graduate in Canberra, I've left Canberra and lived and worked overseas. And now am back in Canberra with a family, and not nearly enough years away from parenting a potential ANU student. But still trying to play football and always proud to be an ANU alumni. In that time, I've seen and experienced enormous change at ANU and ANU Sport and can hopefully provide the benefit of that history, and institutional knowledge to the Board and ANU Sport.
