The ANU Softball Club only began in 2016 - meaning we're a friendly community that is caring and small, but always growing! In 2019 we'd love to have you join our softball family, regardless of your level of experience, we also encourage anyone and everyone to become members and engage with our training sessions and social events. The club also offers a full social calendar, involving: social 7's, dinner & drinks nights, BBQ's and fundraisers.
Training & Matches
Keep an eye out for our open 'come-and-try' training's in the first few weeks of semester. These operate as introductory taster sessions - so bring all of your friends! Training will be held once weekly for 1-2 hours and is organised by the club executives and our external coach. Confirmed training times and locations will be shared via our Facebook on a regular basis.
The club offers skill-based training, inter-varsity matches and involvement with Softball ACT notably via our involvement in the local social 7's tournaments. The club is also eager to participate in the National University Championships (previously known as the AUG's), an opportunity which allows for competition, leadership, travel and skill development.
The club will provide helmets, bats, and some gloves. However players with their own gloves are encouraged to bring them along to our training sessions and matches.
Membership is $60 and covers all training's and various ANUSC merchandise! You can register online through the online membership portal - detailed instructions can be found online. The club provides all equipment, though players are welcome to bring their own gear, particularly gloves. Other than our open introductory training, registration is required for attendance at all training and events.
