The ANU Cricket Club fields sides in all grades of the ACT Cricket Association competition. The club welcomes players of all abilities and provides an opportunity for its members to play competitive cricket in Canberra throughout the summer season.
For those that take their cricket seriously, ANU Cricket Club provides a pathway to elite cricket through the ACT Comets. Club players include Aiden Blizzard (ACT Comets & Sydney Thunder) and the club’s alumni include Brad Haddin and Will Sheridan (Victoria & Melbourne Renegades).
Pre-season training starts a month or two before the season (usually around the end of July) - check the club website http://anucc.act.cricket.com.au/ for details as the time approaches.
During the season – October to March – training is at ANU South Oval nets on Tuesdays and Thurdays from 5:30pm. New players are welcome at ANY time during the season and we can generally find a game for new members at any time during the season.
Social Life and Non-Playing Members
As well as being a competitive club, the club provides an opportunity for members with an interest in cricket to socialise on a regular basis. As well as weekly post-match functions, the club has 2 or 3 social events a year that are always well patronised and thoroughly enjoyed. Non-playing members of the club are welcomed, and people are encouraged to get involved as coaches, managers, scorers and match day assistants.
