The ANU Boat Club is the oldest rowing club in the ACT. It is one of the ACT's most successful rowing clubs and is ANU Sport's current Club of the Year. The club caters for all standards of rower, from beginner to high performance.
For those trying the sport for the first time the club runs Introduction to Rowing programs that start in February and October. These are structured courses with a dedicated coach. Places are limited. Go to http://www.anuboatclub.org/learn-to-row/ to submit an enquiry about the ITR program.
Experienced rowers are welcome to join the club at any time. The club has squads that train throughout the year for all levels of events including local regattas, Australian University Championships (Uni Games), National Championships and national team selection. All members are encouraged to compete in the local regattas, which run all year round. Go to http://www.anuboatclub.org/membership/ to submit an enquiry about joining as an experienced rower.
The ANU boat house is located on campus, beside Sullivan’s Creek, 300 metres upstream from Lake Burley Griffin. Membership of the ANU Boat Club provides access to high quality coaching and a range of scull and sweep oared boats. ANU Boat Club is highly regarded, with a reputation for hard rowing and good sportsmanship.
