ANU Australian Football Club

The ANU Australian Rules Football Club (ANUAFC) offers men and women the opportunity to play competitive Aussie Rules Football in the official AFL Canberra Competition. ANUAFC has teams in the AFL Canberra Men’s 3rd and 4th grade competitions and Women’s 2nd grade competition, as well as other on campus initiatives such as intervarsity and AFL 9s teams.

ANUAFC is committed to on field success, however adopts a flexible attitude when it comes to balancing the time demands of study, work, family and training. Playing footy at the ANUAFC is also a great way to keep fit, meet new people and develop social and professional networks into Canberra’s student, business and public service community.

In addition to the usual AFL club activities of post-match presentations and interstate trips, ANUAFC runs a number of social activities throughout the season such as themed parties, trivia, BBQs, and special training sessions run by sports professionals.

Trainings are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:45pm for a 6pm start at South Oval.

Pre-season training has commenced for 2018 and matches will be played primarily on Saturday’s between April and September. Players of all abilities are encouraged to give it a go!
